Ex-SCL 1641 |
Description: |
One of my favorite engines on the whole line. ex-SCL GP40-2. Interesting in that under the number on the side of the cab, it is labelled SD40-2. |

Another view of the old gal. I got cab rides from this engine as a kid. Back then it was painted a much more classy Black and yellow, with silver lettering. |

CSX 6351 |
Description: |
The old SCL waits patiently while her crew eats a quick lunch from Subway in the crew shack. The palm tree to the left of the engine marks where the old SAL and ACL crossed many years ago. The train is actually sitting on the old connecting track (now the main line) between the two. |

The old "SD" 40-2 |
Description: |
CSX 6351, the one with thd identity crisis! One side of the cab is incorrectly labelled "SD40-2". In one of her many trips to Clearwater in 2005, I asked the crew about this mistake, and was told 6351's cab was damaged in a yard accident, and sent to Huntington to be replaced. They must not have thought the correction was necessary. |
